Artist: Modofac Album: Wind Will Fill the Sails
Review: Ahh yes, Modofac. The self-proclaimed stylings of "law-rock." Led by Law Professor Hank Perritt, Modofac has sprouted to give us an eclectic mix of songs for their debut album "Wind Will Fill the Sails" which was written by Perritt himself.
With sounds of rock, jazz, eerie Halloween-like music, dance, mellow rock, irish-folk, to--well, I am not sure what I can possibly relate some of it to. We get a real treat of indy-sounds to please our ears.
Perritt offers a recurring theme of being yourself and making a mark such as in I Think I Got You Sold to playful songs such as It's Time For a Skunk, for which the name says it all. How can you go wrong with a dance song about the disputed region of Kosovo? Or with the eerie sounds of Did You Have a Dream. Or with Albanian Fire For the Colors that's not even in English. One should expand his or her musical repertoire with these efforts of Modofac.
